Dr Richard Yasotharan

Dr Yasotharan qualified from Barts & The London in 2011 and completed an additional Bachelor’s degree in Experimental Pathology during medical school. His qualifications include MBBS, BSc and MRCGP.

He previously worked as a hospital doctor across a range of medical specialties before undertaking Core Medical Training (CMT) and subsequently completing GP training. He is a Tier 3 GP Trainer and has been Vice Chair of the locality commissioning board.

Dr Yasotharan has particular interests in palliative care and end-of-life care, with additional experience in chronic disease management. He is also accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners to perform minor surgery and joint injections.

Having returned to live in Harpenden, Dr Yasotharan enjoys spending time outdoors locally, including walks on Harpenden Common and Batford Springs. Outside of work, his interests include the gym, running, football, golf and chess. During university, he also served as a member of the Territorial Army.

Dr Ajeet Bagga

Dr Bagga graduated from University College London in 2009, having previously completed a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Management from Imperial College London in 2007. His qualifications include BSc (Hons), MBBS, MRCGP and DPD.

He completed his foundation training at The Whittington Health Trust before undertaking GP training through the South Bedfordshire scheme, gaining experience across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties.

Dr Bagga holds a Diploma in Practical Dermatology (with Merit) from the University of Cardiff and is accredited to perform minor surgery and joint injections. He is a Tier 3 GP Trainer and is actively involved in the education of future GPs. He also serves as a Director of the Harpenden Primary Care Network, contributing to the development of local healthcare services.

He has a strong interest in population health and improving patient outcomes through data-driven care. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, and keeps active through cycling, swimming, football and golf.

Dr Munawar Choudhuri

Dr Choudhuri qualified from University College London in 2003 and completed an additional Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Medical Microbiology during his training. His qualifications include MBBS, BSc (Hons) and MRCGP.

He is a Tier 3 GP Trainer and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. He completed his GP training in North London before becoming a GP Partner in St Albans in 2014, joining Davenport House Surgery in June 2022.

Dr Choudhuri has a specialist interest in diabetes and lifestyle medicine, and is currently developing a lifestyle coaching programme in the local area.

He lives with his wife and four children, and enjoys cooking, football and running in his spare time.

Dr Hayley Kirsop

Dr Kirsop qualified as a GP from Chelsea and Westminster in 2011 and previously worked as a GP Partner in West London. Her qualifications include MBBS, BSc, MRCP, MRCGP and DRCOG.

She has a special interest in diabetes and mental health. Dr Kirsop has recently returned to Harpenden with her husband and young family.

Outside of work, she enjoys running and has completed both the London Marathon and the Great North Run.

Dr Katherine Nowlan

Dr Nowlan qualified from the University of Bristol in 2010 and completed her foundation training at Kingston and Frimley Park hospitals.

She initially trained in hospital medicine before moving into general practice, where she enjoys the variety of care and working with patients of all ages, particularly children. She completed her GP training in 2018 through the Welwyn Garden City scheme.

Her qualifications include MRCGP and MRCOG. She has a particular interest in women’s health and is trained in fitting ring pessaries.

Dr Nowlan lives in St Albans with her husband and young son. She enjoys spending time outdoors and has been known to explore the Lake District with her toddler in tow.

Dr Isabel Lomax

Dr Lomax qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 2008 and completed her GP training in Kingston-upon-Thames in 2013. She has since worked in South West London before joining the practice.

Her clinical interests include women’s health, contraception and menopause care. She is trained in fitting coils and contraceptive implants.

Her qualifications include MBChB, MRCGP, DCH, DFRSH and DRCOG.

Dr Lomax lives in Hitchin with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys climbing, swimming and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Amit Tanna

Dr Tanna qualified from King's College London and also completed an intercalated Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Endocrinology. His qualifications include MBBS, BSc (Hons), MRCGP, PGCert (Cardio), DGM and DOccMed.

He completed his GP training on the West Hertfordshire GP Training Scheme and has worked across a range of hospital specialties prior to entering general practice.

Dr Tanna has a particular interest in cardiovascular medicine and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Cardiology. He also has additional qualifications in Geriatric Medicine and Occupational Medicine, and works as an Independent Occupational Health Physician.

He is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care and values building strong, ongoing relationships with his patients.
